We're trying something a bit different this
time.
Instead of a lot of text on this article's main
page, much of what I have to say appears along side the various photos
which accompany it. And, in addition to commenting upon the convention
itself, I thought I'd offer up a few comments on Doctor Who and the
Whoniverse as well. Just to make it interesting.
Thumbnails of the photos are to the right. Go
in order,
if you like, or just click any one to begin.
Lots of stuff happens at a sci-fi convention;
certainly more happened at this one than I am able to cover here. So,
please check out the links on this page to find out more about the
wonderful world of Doctor Who.
Many great guests attended this year. Among
them, Paul
McGann, Sylvester McCoy, Janet Fielding, Paul Darrow (of Blake's 7),
India
Fisher, Yee Jee Tso, David Gerrold, Kate Orman, Jonathan Blum, Paul
Cornell,
Caroline Symcox, Virginia Hey, Jean Marc Lofficier, Randy Lofficier,
David
Bishop, Susannah Harker, Bill Blair, Toni Blair,
David
J. Howe (Telos Publishing), Bob May,
Brinke Stevens, Ian Farrington (Big Finish), Robert Trebor (Salmoneus),
Paul Ebbs, Len Wein (comics legend), Keith Topping and many others. Too
many to mention here.
Though I've no photos of the meeting, I was nice
to meet face to face with folks from rec.arts.drwho.moderated and other
online forums. That was one of the nicest parts of an over all
wonderful convention.
My thanks to Shaun Lyon and the con's
organizers; I had a marvelous time and am looking forward to next
year's convention.
