What kind of stories do you produce?
All kinds! At NPR, I covered pretty much every topic under the sun: breaking news, politics, health, science, climate, music, film, fashion, sports. Later, with the Click Here podcast, I focused on technology and cybersecurity — producing and reporting on topics like Russian cyber criminals, post-Roe digital privacy and satellite imagery in Sudan.
OK, but what are your favorite stories to cover?
Do you write, too?
Of course. Before starting in audio journalism, I worked in print/digital media and wrote my master’s thesis on the dying art of magazine fact-checking. I’ve written and reported for NPR, ESPN, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Recorded Future News, 5280 Magazine, Ad Age and The Colorado Springs Gazette. I also contributed writing for
“The Art of Dying Well,” a National Magazine Award-winning service package from 5280.
Oh, this is where you brag about awards, is it?
I’ve worked as a fact-checker, copy editor, voice actor, sports reporter, restaurant host and campus tour guide. I was also, for a brief moment, the worst bouncer in Columbia, MO.
What else do you do?

No, I mean, like, for fun.
Oh…you can catch me biking on the lakefront, reading print magazines, listening to podcasts, testing new recipes and watching old movies on the Criterion Channel.
Where are you based?
America’s best big city: Chicago, IL.
What’s your rate?
